1 February 2023I fitted the new model Triple Flex ignition to upgrade from an old Boyer analogue system, having fitted Tri Spark ignitions before, this model is a little different to wire, not necessarily more difficult, just not the same. One of the advantages is that it can cope with a variety of coil options, so no need for balast resistors, and the mini coils can be used. This bike had original 6v Lucas coils in good condition so they stayed. Fitting took about and hour and 20 minutes, it started on the button (good battery and leads), when warm it was strobed and that was basically it, nice even tickover, pulled well from low revs and coped well with some heavy traffic, it also started well using the kickstart. Too soon to to comment on reliability, but everything works well so far.
